GATE

GATE English is for freshmen students who want to challenge themselves and prepare for college.  Depending on your middle school experience, this class might be a big academic jump for you.  The class requires strong reading and writing skills, or a strong desire to improve in those areas.  Students are asked to read challenging works of literature and decipher meaning on their own.   Writing assignments are given weekly.  GATE students should also have a good work ethic, as homework is assigned almost every night.  Students will have an enriching experience interacting with other academically motivated students and complete engaging projects that will challenge their thinking and prepare them for future honors and Advanced Placement classes at Sahuaro.
