Our Mission
The Sahuaro girl’s soccer program will create a competitive atmosphere to encourage our athletes to compete. It is our mission to develop a competitive “fire” in all of our athletes. We expect them to compete at their highest level during every practice and every game.
Our focus is to pursue victory with honor with goals to win the region and compete for the state title.
It is also the expectation that all participants of the Sahuaro girl’s soccer program will represent our program with respect and class on and off the field.
Academic achievement is monitored throughout the season and all participants are expected to maintain good grades.

Sahuaro coach Dave Kruszewski completed his 20th season as head coach of the Cougar's girl's soccer program. Owning a 289-141-25 record Kruszewski has built a program that is consistently competitive year after year.
“When you play soccer at Sahuaro you know what to expect,” Kruszewski said. “We have established a program over the years and we are very consistent with what we do.”
Kruszewski grew up in Tucson and began playing soccer at the age of 8. “I have 3 brothers and we'd play soccer every day in the backyard. The oldest and youngest verse the two middle kids, it was always very competitive”. Kruszewski said. He then attended Salpointe Catholic High School and played for Wolfgang Weber. “When you play for Wolf you really begin to develop an understanding of how the game should be played.”
After high school Kruszewski had back surgery and was told he would never play soccer again. Determined to prove the doctors were wrong, he spent the next two years building up strength and training everyday. During that two year period he couldn't stay away from soccer and began coaching. He started out volunteering with former coaches for both club and high school teams. While he did prove the doctors wrong and was eventually able to play again, Kruszewski never quit coaching.
After high school Kruszewski graduated from the University of Arizona with a BS in Health Sciences specializing in Physical Education. He then attended graduate school at Ball State University graduating with a MA in Physical Education specializing in coaching.
He is married to Jennifer and they are the proud parents of 4 boys. Michael, Nathan, Brenden, and Andrew.
