46th Annual Rick Botkin Memorial Game
Sahuaro football players and relatives and friends of Rick Botkin gather on the field for the memorial gameRick Botkin was a senior at Sahuaro High School when he was killed in a car accident 47 years ago. Every year since, Sahuaro has hosted a memorial game in honor of the former football star. It is the longest-running memorial game in the United States.

Rick’s jersey was #25, Coach Al Alexander selects a player to wear #25 during the game, thus known to be an ongoing honor. For this game, #25 was painted at each 25-yard line. Congratulations to our Cougars for a thrilling 38-33 victory over Douglas!
